Perhaps audio slideshows are too much of a halfway house between a video and a pure audio piece and listeners/viewers would prefer one or the other? Its an interesting idea though! Not sure what a good name would be for them…
Duckrabbit pride themselves on producing ‘photofilms’ – much better name than audio slideshows, far more emotive
I really like soundscapes- from someone who doesn’t know much about them really, on quite a superficial level I just think ‘soundscapes’ sounds the nicest and most interesting.
I think the name ‘soundscapes’ works well too, however it might suggest that there is no visual content.
Soundscape is an electroacoustic term used within electronic music. Artists will create soundscape pieces, less as a composition and more as a design. Not sure it would be right here.
