The law of Copyright online

The internet presents a world of opportunities to gain access to information. But with this luxury comes temptation and the internet is the one place temptation will always flourish.

With masses of information available at our fingertips, it’s no surprise then that there is likely to be a temptation to just grab whatever information or image that tickles your fancy. But With audio slideshows requiring what may seem like endless images to achieve a beautiful result, where do we draw the line when it comes to seeking inspiration from other people’s works?

On this leg of the series with Duckrabbit, we explore the law on copyright when it comes to online content. Dave White, Photography Director says people need to give high priority to copyright laws and exercise the same journalist law practices and ethics when it comes to online works. He says while the law on copyright is usually exercised in print and broadcast journalism, it simply cannot be ignored when it comes to online works.

Dave put huge emphasises on the importance of copyright law and rightly so. Ignoring copyright laws could be a major pitfall, especially in this world of audio slideshows, where image is everything!

Tune in to VisVox again for the last in the series with Duckrabbit, where we talk about how to make money in audio slideshows. You really can’t afford to miss it!
